Overview & Objectives:

This five-day instructor-led course takes on a task-oriented approach to teach students the skills necessary to deploy, configure and administer the Cisco ASA using a fictional company’s deployment of an ASA based on real world scenarios.

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to configure the ASA 5505 dual-ISP support, ASA 5505 VLANs and the security appliances to pass multicast traffic, as well as Layer 7 class maps and policy maps. This course also teaches students how to use the Graphical User Interface instead of the Command Line Interface for the purpose of explaining and discussing the configuration of the ASA.

After completing this course participants can register to sit the (SNAA) 642-515 exam.

This course is primarily intended for students responsible for configuring Cisco IOS software. This course is also suitable for people responsible for maintaining their organisations networks and security systems.

Prerequisites:

Before attending this course, students must be:

• Certified as a CCNA or have the equivalent knowledge
• Completed Cisco course (SNAF) Securing Networks with ASA Fundamentals
• Have experience in configuring Cisco IOS software
• Have a basic knowledge of the Windows operating system
• Have a familiarity with the networking and security terms and concepts as learnt through prerequisite training
