This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to identify, capture and store big data from one or more sources. Learners will apply methods and tools to collect large volumes of structured and unstructured data and store it in appropriate systems for later analysis and use across a broad range of workplace contexts.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to test big data samples to ensure data quality, accuracy and fitness for purpose. Learners will apply testing methodologies to validate samples drawn from large datasets before they are used for analysis and reporting in operational or strategic business contexts.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to analyse big data from one or more sources. Learners will apply analytical techniques and tools to interpret large volumes of data, identify patterns and trends, and derive actionable insights relevant to a range of business and industry purposes.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to present big data insights in a clear, meaningful and accessible format. Learners will develop capabilities to communicate data findings to diverse audiences using appropriate visualisation tools, reports and presentations to support informed decision-making.

The units in this skill set provide credit towards qualifications in the BSB Business Services Training Packages. Completing this skill set can contribute towards higher qualifications such as Certificate IV in Business (BSB40120), Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420), and other BSB-stream qualifications, depending on unit overlap and institutional recognition policies.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this skill set at the time of publication (29 February 2020). This skill set is open to all eligible applicants meeting entry requirements.

Graduates who complete all 4 units are awarded a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SOA).
All accredited study programs and qualifications are delivered and certified by Alpha Education House (Australian Education and Training Institute (AETI) Pty Ltd · ABN: 58 164 980 027 · ACN: 164 980 027 · RTO Code: 46419). Where training programs have limited places, these will be filled in order of completed bookings. If Alpha Education House closes or ceases to deliver any part of a qualification, it will assist learners in locating another provider or refund the portion of fees for which training has not been provided.
Upon successful completion of all 4 units of competency, graduates are awarded a Statement of Attainment — a nationally recognised credential under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
