Contribute to cyber security risk management
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the assessment of cyber security threats within an organisation. Learners will apply structured assessment methodologies to identify, evaluate and document cyber threats — including malware, phishing, unauthorised access and data vulnerabilities — across a broad range of workplace and industry contexts. This unit supports organisations in building a proactive and evidence-based approach to understanding their cyber threat landscape.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the management of cyber security risks within an organisation. Learners will apply risk management frameworks to identify, prioritise, treat and monitor cyber risks identified through threat assessment processes. This unit supports organisations in developing a structured, repeatable approach to managing cyber security risks in alignment with industry standards and regulatory expectations across a broad range of industries.
This skill set applies to those working in a broad range of industries who, as part of their job role, contribute to cyber security threat assessments and cyber security risk management.
This skill set is suited to professionals who need to engage with cyber security processes as a core or contributing part of their role — not just IT specialists. The units in this skill set provide credit towards qualifications in the Business Services Training Packages. Completing BSBSS00093 can contribute towards higher qualifications including the Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420) and other BSB-stream qualifications, subject to unit overlap and institutional recognition policies.This skill set can be combined with BSBSS00091 Capture and Present Big Data and BSBSS00092 Manage Big Data to build comprehensive digital and data governance capabilities.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this skill set at the time of publication (29 February 2020). This skill set is open to all eligible applicants meeting entry requirements.

Graduates who complete all 4 units are awarded a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SOA).
All accredited study programs and qualifications are delivered and certified by Alpha Education House (Australian Education and Training Institute (AETI) Pty Ltd · ABN: 58 164 980 027 · ACN: 164 980 027 · RTO Code: 46419). Where training programs have limited places, these will be filled in order of completed bookings. If Alpha Education House closes or ceases to deliver any part of a qualification, it will assist learners in locating another provider or refund the portion of fees for which training has not been provided.
Upon successful completion of both units of competency, graduates are awarded a Statement of Attainment — a nationally recognised credential under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
