This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to develop structured procedures and frameworks for managing big data within an organisation. Learners will apply governance and operational principles to design policies and processes that ensure big data is managed consistently, securely and in alignment with organisational and industry requirements across a broad range of workplace contexts.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to protect the integrity of big data assets within an organisation. Learners will apply security protocols, data governance principles and risk management practices to ensure that big data remains accurate, consistent, and trustworthy throughout its lifecycle — from collection through to analysis and reporting.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to implement and review big data management procedures within an organisation. Learners will apply continuous improvement methodologies to roll out data management frameworks, monitor their effectiveness, identify gaps, and make adjustments to ensure procedures remain fit for purpose across a range of operational and strategic business contexts.
This skill set is designed for professionals across industries who work with big data as part of their operational responsibilities.
This skill set applies to those working in a broad range of industries who, as part of their job, are responsible for managing big data. This includes data governance officers, IT managers, operations managers, compliance officers, and senior analysts who oversee the management, security and continuous improvement of big data processes within their organisation.

Completing BSBSS00092 can contribute towards higher qualifications such as the Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420) and other BSB-stream qualifications, depending on unit overlap and institutional recognition policies.This skill set can also be completed alongside or after BSBSS00091 Capture and Present Big Data Skill Set to build a comprehensive big data capability — from operational data capture through to management-level governance and integrity protection.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this skill set at the time of publication (29 February 2020). This skill set is open to all eligible applicants meeting entry requirements.

Graduates who complete all 4 units are awarded a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SOA).
All accredited study programs and qualifications are delivered and certified by Alpha Education House (Australian Education and Training Institute (AETI) Pty Ltd · ABN: 58 164 980 027 · ACN: 164 980 027 · RTO Code: 46419). Where training programs have limited places, these will be filled in order of completed bookings. If Alpha Education House closes or ceases to deliver any part of a qualification, it will assist learners in locating another provider or refund the portion of fees for which training has not been provided.
Upon successful completion of all 3 units of competency, graduates are awarded a Statement of Attainment — a nationally recognised credential under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
